Want more fans? Last Wednesday, Facebook made it possible by launching the “Fan Box” which allows you to add a stream of activity from your Facebook fan page, right on your website. While this is a great tool for marketers and web masters, it’s also another
opportunity for Facebook to expand its reach outside of its walls (literally and figuratively)
The fan box is available to all page admins and is a simple bit of code that you can copy and paste right into your website. So, if you think you can only attract Facebook users to your fan page by emailing them or “Suggesting To Friends”… think again. If you’re a fan page admin, simply log in to your page and look in the menu options under your profile picture of an option that says “Add Fan Box To Your Site.” You will have a few standard options which are: Include Stream (A live stream of page activity) and/or Include Fans. ( a showcase of existing fans)No matter which option you choose, if not both, a “Become A Fan” button is included.
There are options to customize the box for advanced users. Facebook links to their Developer Wiki and provides all of the instructions that one should need to do this. In the meantime, for a great example of the fan box, just look to the right-hand column of our own blog.
Not yet a fan of Transmyt on Facebook? Here’s the perfect opportunity to try out OUR Fan Box and become one now.
