			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I just finished my first week here at Transmyt as a summer marketing intern and I couldn’t be more excited.  Transmyt affords me the opportunity to be exposed to a broad range clientele, from restaurants to sporting goods, and has given me a good deal of responsibility.  The company is great; a casual atmosphere with people who are serious about what they do and who are experts in online marketing/web development.</p>
<p>I am currently pursuing my MBA at Boston College with a focus on brand management and marketing informatics.  I became intrigued with online marketing through my studies and wanted to apply what I have learned in the classroom, broaden my skill set and provide real value (I hope) to a company through a summer internship.</p>
<p>Each Monday throughout the summer, I will be blogging, so stay tuned for more posts.  I have never written a blog before so feel free to provide some feedback on my posts or maybe even “like” them. J  Looking forward to a great summer!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I started my new job as Marketing Manager at Transmyt this past Monday, and my life (at least between 8am and 5pm every weekday) has changed forever.</p>
<p>For one, my role is different: coming from a background primarily in organic search, I now get to integrate those efforts with social media tactics as well as comprehensive online marketing strategies—a hallmark of Transmyt.  For two (or, “second,” in most circles),  my professional experience thus far has included Fortune 500 and 1000 companies, ranging from sports- and news media to consumer packaged goods to pharmaceuticals.  For those of you who don’t know, Transmyt is <em>the</em> marketing and design destination for brands across a myriad of <a href="http://transmyt.com/portfolio/">verticals</a>—fitness, athletic goods, entertainment, nightlife, and of course musical artists—and many of these companies are local and in start-up mode.</p>
<p>Becoming familiar with these clients has been just as rewarding as another side project I’m working on: beating <a href="http://transmyt.com/about-us/meet-our-director/">Jeremy</a> for the <a href="http://transmyt.com/blog/2010/08/20/checkin-battle/">Transmyt mayorship on Foursquare</a> , and sampling every item  from our neighbor <a href="http://www.bdpizza.com/home.html">Big Daddy’s Pizza’s  menu</a>.  I’m very excited to be here and look forward to many (many, many) weeks to come, particularly now that I’ve officially been welcomed aboard.  Literally.</p>

<p>A new organization dedicated to using Ferraris and other exotic automobiles as mobile advertising, media platforms. Proceeds from these campaigns are used to assist local charitable endeavors such as disease research foundations, Homeless aid organizations and other local charities with a direct and specific “donation to use” ratio..  This is a bold, engaging, unique, fun and cost-effective alternative to traditional advertising marketing that is sure to turn heads and generate brand impressions and engagements unlike other mobile marketing initiatives.</p>

<p>Oh, right, and a new Transmyt website &#8211; we are developing a brand new home for the company and its endeavors.</p>
<p>Starting with a &#8220;business card&#8221; home page, the current <a href="http://transmyt.com" target="_blank">transmyt.com</a>, we ensure that in just a few seconds you know who we are, where we are located, what we do, and how to contact us. This small launch allows us to construct what is to come &#8211; a technologically advanced base for rich company and marketing information that prides itself on accessibility and readability.</p>
<p>As per usual, the fantastic <a href="http://alistapart.com">A List Apart</a> is one step ahead of the game in posting <a href="http://www.alistapart.com/articles/erskine-design-redesign/" target="_blank">informative</a>, fun, and <a href="http://www.alistapart.com/articles/redesigning-your-own-site/" target="_blank">easy-to-relate-to</a> articles about &#8220;how two of the great ones handled the challenge of redesigning their own sites.&#8221; </p>
<p>Oh yes, they sum up enjoyable struggles quite well -</p>
<p><em>&#8220;90% of web design is redesign. The hardest redesigns are the ones you do for yourself.&#8221;</em></p>
